The Uttar Pradesh Department of Tourism came up with the initiative in 2021 and said the service is expected to start in December this year. But for some reason, this service could not be launched that year.

According to IANS, “Most tourists, especially foreigners, visit Agra to see the Taj Mahal due to good connectivity, but the same tourists skip other equally important tourist destinations due to poor connectivity. Helicopter taxi service would prove a boon for these tourists,” said Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture in 2021.

Official sources said the service will ensure tourists reach their destinations and return on the same day, according to IANS.
