PANAJI: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said today that the state government will launch a new taxi app called ‘Goa Taxi’.
CM Dr Pramod Sawant, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho held a meeting on the issue of taxis and enforcement training.
“The state government is going to launch a new taxi app called ‘Goa Taxi’. We are trying to launch this app by the new year. There should be an app-based taxi service in Goa to facilitate the transportation system throughout Goa, which people badly need,” Godinho said.
He added that the government wanted to get Ola and Uber, and people also welcomed it, but they have their particular problems, and there are also reports that they have huge debts and could leave their services. in India.
“Getting there with our GEL. We are trying to develop an application involving all stakeholders. They must feel that this application belongs to them. It will be called Goa Taxi,” he added.
The minister said they will take confidence from all stakeholders, and I urge taxi drivers in Goa to be on board with this app.
“It will be as if the Goa government is doing it on its side for the taxi drivers. Goa government will fully fund this application. They will have a lot of advantages with this app,” Godinho said.
Godinho said, “People in Goa want cheap and easy mode of transport. People were asking for an app-based transportation service. You have to evolve with the times. If they don’t understand the importance of such facilities right now, they will be left behind,”
The minister said that there are people who lead people astray and that we must stop. I want Goa to have a cheap and reliable mode of transport.
“People say taxis in Goa charge beyond imagination and exploit people. Let that be a thing of the past,” he added.
