From Saturday 30 April 2022, London Black Cabs, as well as all private and out-of-area hire taxis, must pay a £5 fee to be dropped off at all terminals at Heathrow Airport.
Implementing an automatic payment facility could help regular users and occasional visitors to Heathrow avoid costly Penalty Notices (PCNs).
Failure to pay will result in a Parking Charges Notice (PCN) of £80, reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days.
The Terminal Drop-Off Charge is managed by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems – similar to those used for the London Congestion Charge and the Dart Charge – and will apply to all vehicles using the drop-off facilities from Heathrow Terminal.
Blue Badge holders will be entitled to a 100% discount. Drivers will have the option to pay the £5 fee in advance or by midnight the day after drop off. Payments can only be made by card, either online or through an automated telephone service.
How do I set up automatic payment?
Once an account has been created, users must register the card details from which payment will be taken as and when required.
Drivers should also remember to enter the details of the vehicle they are driving and wish to enroll in the program. It is also worth remembering to DELETE or change the vehicle details if you do not drive the taxi or car in the future to avoid paying the charges for other drivers.
Through the website, users will be able to create an account and manage several aspects relating to deposit fees. Drivers will be able to:
Pay for a single deposit or prepay for multiple deposits.
Add a vehicle, pay for a single delivery, prepay for multiple deliveries, set up autopay, and view trip history.
Businesses can add multiple vehicles, set up autopay, manage vehicles, and view trip history.
Ask for a Blue Badge discount.
Payment by automated telephone service.
Pay a PCN.
