FAAN launches taxi app to crack down on illegal car rental


The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched the FAAN Taxi app to make it easier to get taxis at the airport and even downtown.

According to FAAN, all taxi operators at the airport will check in on the app and passengers will call drivers using the app, eliminating situations where touts harass passengers with all kinds of services. unregulated taxi.

Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, Managing Director of FAAN, disclosed in Abuja during the launch, saying that beyond eliminating advertising, the app would also improve FAAN’s revenue position as the leaks would be blocked.

Represented by Group Capt Usman Abubakar Sadiq (Rtd), the Director of Security Services, FAAN MD says that all taxi operators would be uploaded to the app to be able to operate taxi services at the airport.

He thus encouraged all taxi operators at the airport to apply for a more profitable business.

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Sadiku Abdulkadir Rafindadi, Business and Business Development Manager of FAAN, said, “The app will improve the smoothness, convenience, safety and security of passengers traveling through it. use”.

He said you can be at airport or anywhere else and call FAAN Taxi App drivers to take you from airport and even move around town.

He further added that they have onboarded over 900 drivers including existing car rental operators, Uber drivers, Bolt drivers and others on the app.
